HTTP status code wizard
Pick the right HTTP status code by answering a few questions, look up what a code you received means, or compare any two side by side. The whole site runs in your browser — no backend, no tracking, no cookies.
Modes
- Picker — answer two or three questions and the wizard suggests the right code, or shows both sides when the answer is genuinely contested (e.g. 400 vs 422, 401 vs 403).
- Lookup — search or browse, click a code, and read a real example, the RFC view, when to use it, and what it’s commonly confused with.
- Compare — pick any two codes for a side-by-side comparison: summaries, examples, RFC quotes, and a rule of thumb.
